Furry Friend Friday
This week's winner is Maggie Moo. This cute kitty is shy but once she comes out of her shell demands attention any time you pass by. She prefers to stay on counters, cat trees, and tables to avoid the evil Weebles Monster (aka dog). I think she could really do some damage on him and then he'd leave her alone but she prefers to run which makes for a great chase. Maggie is the only cat so far not on any type of prescription, diet or medication, in the house. Lets keep it that way Mags!!!
She has a hard time holding still because she really wants love!

Work in Progress Wednesday
I have most recently been experimenting with crochet and plastic bags. First I make yarn by cutting the bag's bottom off. Then I cut the bag into think circles and attach the loops together forming my "yarn". I was thinking of a change purse for this granny square. Working on a clasp idea. Also planning on taking three layers of square bag and ironing it together and then sewing it to form the liner. I was also thinking of making sturdier grocery sacs that are lined so they are pretty leak proof and reusable but collapsable.
What else can I make from plastic bags?

Tuesday Surprise
I had a simple day planned. Get up, have breakfast, shower, go to work and drive vehicle to the Ford dealership and meet Richard for lunch. I was interrupted just when I got out of the shower. I find Weebles munchin away on Hot Shots Ant Bait.
No worries because it's well within the safe range. However, I wasn't positive of this until well after I was supposed to leave so 20ml of peroxide and 20 minutes later he vomited his breakfast. (seemed like it took forever) and all was well. Now I guess he didn't really have to vomit but I wasn't positive so better safe than sorry. Now after a couple hours he's had a snack and won't remember that the reason he had to be sick was because he ate something he shouldn't. It's a good thing he's really cute. :)

This skirt by Salts is so cute and also eco-friendly!!
I broke down and picked a ring again. I think I could wear rings on every finger and still buy more. This ring by DistortedEarth is very sophistocated yet casual, love it.

I Found My Next Project!
Here I was minding my own business, checking my usual blogs when bam! As Smee says in Hook, "Lightning came down and struck my brain."

Furry Friend Fridays
This week is dedicated to my dog Kodi. Kodi came along as a house pet when I was 17 but has since been converted to a farm dog. He does not eat many people's lunch out of their truck these days but he is certainly a big part of my parent's house. He's even getting better letting me trim his nails.

Roses in all colors
I have been looking at the Instructables website for inspiration. I found 2 options for flower types that I am very excited about.

Work In Progress
On Saturday I went to my parents house to visit. While I was there I was also able to use my dad's shop and made some beads out of toothbrushes. These toothbrushes are a kind of plastic that doesn't bend so I thought I'd make them into beads! I forgot to take pictures of the actual process, using the scroll saw, the sander, and the engraver. All I have left to try is a buffer to see if the green ones will shine better. There are 2 types, the white plastic and the clear plastic. I can't wait to use them with hemp. Any other suggestions as to how to use them?

The Garden Progress
The seeds are growing! Although I had to remove some mold from the top today, hopefully that will not effect the plants. Very excited!

Latest Creation
I have never been interested in large projects involving Granny squares as they tend to take quite a while and I don't seem to have patience for that...at least not at the moment. I saw this apron on tangled happy and fell in love. She also listed a link for an awesome granny square by Kim called the nuthatch so I thought I'd actually go for it. It took my day off and an hour the next night to finish but I love it.

Top 3 Picks of the Week
Today I have found some awesome new crafts on etsy. (in no particular order)
First is a beautiful Wind Chime. It is made of recycled wine bottles and I'd LOVE to know how they cut the glass!
Next is a bouquet that is perfect for me. Not only will it not die like cut flowers but I don't have to fail at keeping alive a potted plant either! Still beautiful, and my favorite color.
This necklace is beautiful and I love the twist on the locket aspect!

The Easter Bunny
My latest creation are easter bunny ears on a headband. I crocheted these ears with my own pattern and attached them to a headband. They did not turn out exactly like I wanted on the headband but I think they look good. Next year I will have more time to work out the headband better.

Top 3 Picks of the Week
I have kinda taken a hiatus this week as I was feeling a little under the weather and frustrated with my lack of accomplishment. So begins a new week and so I have been back to browsing my good friend etsy. Here are my top 3 in no particular order.
This adorable necklace is cute with most any outfit and I'd love to add it to my wardrobe! Who knew crochet could be so awesome!
If I didn't leave everything everywhere I'd totally have this adorable clutch. Maybe it could be a smaller purse in my big purse...
I love the look of this shops silver pieces. Especially the rings, there are some really cute ones with words, just none for me right now, but these are adorable. You should really check it out.
Today was a day of Yoga, food, sleep, and a little crafting. Couldn't be a better day off. Now if the dogs would just clean the house for me I'd be set :)

Furry Friend Friday
This friday is dedicated to my good friend Gracie. (I promise fridays will not always be about my personal animals) What Gracie may lack in training she certainly makes up for in support. Her loving eyes are so expressive and are always a comfort if you're feeling sad. She practically has her own language with her different whines mostly associated with carrots or mealtime. And you can always count on her to sleep right next to you all night long so you are never alone.
Why is it though sweet Gracie that you and your sibling Weebles have to teach each other only the bad habits? Can't he teach you thinks like fetch and you teach him things like sit and look pretty? Instead you have taught him to lick people's faces and knees and to bark at nothing and he has in turn shared his hostility towards other dogs and protecting the human food territory against the evil cat intruders. It is so weird to see our sweet gracie growl and chase a cat away while we are eating (although we do not feed her from the table) I guess that's what dogs like to do, share in the habits that drive you crazy but don't have the time to fix.

Best Laid Plans...
Ever feel like none of the projects you may have spend hours day dreaming about and even hours working on just don't look right or do not turn out the way you want? Today I feel that way.
Some days I would be upset for a bit but then figure a way to still make it work....and some days I just give up and watch TV. Which will today be?

The Garden
So it's that time of year again. I always have such high hopes. My dad has sent me these awesome planter ideas etc. We'll see if that portion actually happens as when it's winter I long to be outside and in the garden. Then I am tempted by the spring weather and instead of working as I should to prepare for planting time I waste the days away walking the dogs and enjoying the sun. Waste is probably the wrong word but it definitely is not preparing to plant the garden I'd like to. But I have started!
We have planted Tomatoes, both Roma and Early Girl, Broccoli, Green Beans, Basil, Peppers, and Marigolds.
I am also well stocked with cayenne pepper. This may seem odd; Last year we discovered that chipmonks like to burrow in our garden. They do not completely chew up the plants but definitely the bigger stalks and they don't dig up the plants but they make shallow holes, I assume to lay in. After spraying the bottoms with cayenne pepper they seemed to leave the plants alone. This worked better than the sign I posted. Go figure. Lets see how fast they grow!

Newly Finished
Here is what I most recently finished. A pretty blue spring hat. Spring because it is a vibrant blue but also it has a large stitch and would be too cold to wear in rough winter snows. But Spring can have a chilly breeze so a hat can sometimes be just right for early spring!
Beginning
And Done! :)
